Why Rim Rehab
for Restoration?

Wanting a complete overhaul of your current rims? Or can't buy the rims in the colour you want? We offer a full complete restoration option here at Rim Rehab — from fully customised paintwork to multiple colours with our powder coating technology.

All wheels go through a full teardown and inspection. Our skilled techs complete any final touches required due to the age of the wheel or any small imperfections noticed during our initial inspection. This ensures what we like to call a diamond finish — work that will last a lifetime.

How It Works

  • 1
Full strip to bare metalAll existing finish is removed — paint, clear coat, primer. The wheel is assessed in its raw state.
  • 2
Damage repairAll kerb damage, gouges, cracks and deformations are repaired. Straightening is done before painting.
  • 3
Surface preparationThe bare metal is prepared, cleaned and etched for maximum primer adhesion.
  • 4
Primer coatMultiple coats of automotive-grade primer are applied and cured.
  • 5
Colour coatYour chosen colour is applied in multiple coats for depth and consistency.
  • 6
Clear coat and cureA durable protective clear coat is applied and fully cured.
  • 7
Final inspectionEvery restored wheel is inspected before return — no exceptions.

Common Questions

What's the difference between a refinish and a full restoration?

A refinish typically applies new colour over a prepared but not fully stripped surface. A full restoration strips back to bare metal, repairs all damage first, and builds back up from scratch. The result is better and more durable — especially on wheels with multiple damage points.

What colour can I choose for a restoration?

Any colour — gloss, matte, satin, metallic, two-tone, powder coat or custom mix. We'll show you options and advise on what suits your vehicle.

How long does a full restoration take?

Typically 3–5 days for a full set of four wheels. Single wheels can be faster. We'll give you an accurate timeframe when you book.

Is full restoration worth it on older wheels?

Usually yes — if the wheel profile and structure are sound, a full restoration can make a 10-year-old wheel look better than new. It's almost always cheaper than sourcing and fitting replacement wheels, particularly for non-standard sizes or discontinued designs.

Can you restore cracked wheels?

Yes — crack repair by TIG welding is part of the restoration process when required. We assess whether the crack is repairable before proceeding.
