Diamond cut wheels have a distinctive look — a bright machined aluminium face with a painted barrel, giving a two-tone effect that's popular on premium and performance vehicles. When they're damaged, standard painting won't restore that characteristic machined appearance. They need to go back on the lathe.

Rim Rehab offers diamond cut refinishing for compatible wheel designs. The wheel goes on a CNC lathe which machines a fine layer off the face, restoring the bright cut finish. The barrel is then painted and the whole wheel is clear coated for protection. The result is a finish that matches the original factory spec.

  Compatibility checkNot all wheels can be diamond cut — we check the design, previous repairs and metal thickness before proceeding.

  Barrel strip and repairThe barrel is stripped and any damage repaired before the lathe work begins.

  CNC lathe machiningThe wheel face is machined on our CNC lathe. Not all CNC machines are born equal — here at Rim Rehab we have the latest CNC technology with the latest Black Edition software, which is the leader in CNC machinery.

  Barrel colour coatThe barrel is painted in your chosen colour — typically black, gunmetal or a custom colour.

  Clear coatA lacquer clear coat is applied over the machined face to protect it from oxidation.
