Crack & Weld Repair

A cracked alloy doesn't always mean the bin. Structural TIG welding restores integrity to hairline cracks, spoke cracks, and rim lip damage — pressure tested before it goes back on your car.

Why Rim Rehab For Crack Repair

Why Rim Rehab

Cracked wheels are a safety issue if repaired badly — and a waste of a good wheel if replaced unnecessarily. We assess the crack location, extent and wheel thickness first, then TIG weld with precise, controlled heat, grind and shape back to the original profile, and pressure test every repair before it's cosmetically finished and returned.

The Process

How It Works

1

Safety Assessment

Crack location, extent, and wheel thickness assessed before proceeding.

2

TIG Weld Repair

Precise, controlled-heat welding restores structural integrity.

3

Pressure Test

Every repair is pressure tested for seal verification.

4

Cosmetic Finish

Colour-matched and clear coated before final inspection.

Common Questions

FAQ

Is a welded wheel safe to drive on?

When repaired correctly by a specialist and within appropriate parameters, yes. We pressure test all repairs and won't return a wheel we don't have full confidence in.

What cracks are repairable?

Radial cracks from spoke to rim, hairline cracks from impacts, and rim lip cracks are commonly repairable. Cracks through spoke faces or near bolt holes need careful assessment.

How do I know if my wheel is cracked?

A persistent slow puncture on one corner or a visible line in the alloy face — often on the inner rim — can indicate a crack. Send us a photo.

How long does crack repair take?

Typically 24–48 hours depending on the extent of the damage.

Is repair cheaper than replacement?

Usually yes for standard alloys, and it's the only option for rare or discontinued wheels.
